Benjamin Viteri

An Ecuadorian visual artist specializing in digital illustration and printmaking techniques, he has exhibited his work in countries such as Mexico, Peru, Chile, El Salvador, and Ecuador. He is currently the director of the less toxic printmaking and experimental graphics workshop "Mala Estampa," where he promotes new forms of artistic expression with a sustainable approach. He is also the creator of the comic strip "Otra Vez Lunes," a work that combines humor and social criticism. His work is based on two fundamental areas. On the one hand, it emphasizes the richness of Ecuadorian popular culture and explores the biodiversity of both Andean and Amazonian fauna and flora. On the other hand, he uses humor and sarcasm as recurring tools to connect with diverse audiences and critique the ventriloquism strategies of the State.

About our riso prints

Thanks to our RISO machine, we can experiment with duplicator printing and open collaborations with different artists, printing illustrations, photographs, publications and fanzines. It works with rice paper matrices, soy-ink drums and rollers to print layer by layer the images on the paper. Each copy always has small differences that make them unique.
