Witches' Legacy - Polii

Polett Zapata

 

(1994) is a Visual Artist graduated from the Faculty of Arts at the Central University of Ecuador. Her work primarily focuses on painting, illustration, printmaking, and embroidery, through which she presents a personal and feminine panorama. She has worked on artistic projects at Arte Actual FLACSO, the Contemporary Art Center, Museo el Alabado, and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). She has given art workshops in cities such as Quito, Cuenca, and Guayaquil, collaborated with the Las Reinas Pepiadas foundation, and created illustrations for publishing houses like Severo Editorial and USFQ PRESS. Her work has been exhibited in various national and international venues, including Arte Actual FLACSO, Hybrid - Madrid - Spain, La Iberoamericana de Alcalá in Madrid, the Metropolitan Cultural Center, Museo de los Metales, Museo del Cacao, Museo Nahim Isaias, the World Bank, La Minga Gallery, La primera edición (Guayaquil-Ecuador), Espacio Onder, Qgalería, and Museo de la Ciudad. She resides and works in the city of Quito.

About our riso prints

Thanks to our RISO machine, we can experiment with duplicator printing and open collaborations with different artists, printing illustrations, photographs, publications and fanzines. It works with rice paper matrices, soy-ink drums and rollers to print layer by layer the images on the paper. Each copy always has small differences that make them unique.
