About this work
"Without land, without water, without sky" is the mural work by Danny Reveco that can be seen on the façade of the Taller Fábrika, Gálvez passage, Valparaíso.
Observing the continuous changes within the city and particularly in the neighborhood where we work, tourism is evident as an act of consumption devoid of reflection. On every scale, Latin America, Chile, Valparaíso, have a history that deserves to be known -really- by those who visit their places. Since 2017, we have welcomed Danny Reveco to the workshop to create the mural work "Without land, without water, without sky" that reconnects local and foreign visitors to a history that needs to be communicated.
Danny Reveco is a Chilean artist who works on popular identity, ancestral culture, and the impact of the neo-liberal system on them, seeking to rescue the roots of these historically invaded lands. This work involves various actions, including muralism. Adopting the hood as a symbol of radical political movements in Latin America, he hides his identity to better connect with a critical and at the same time magical community, challenging Western reality.
Technical details
Paper size: 19x12cm
100% cotton paper 300gsm; cyanotype emulsion; UV protective finish.
About our Cyanotypes
Our production begins with the development of black and white analog photographic film. We adapt the negative to the cyanotype technique, then expose it by contact to the sun. Subsequently, it is developed in various water baths and additives to achieve the desired contrast and intensity of blue. Once the process is complete, a UV protective layer is applied to ensure the work's durability over time. All works are signed and stamped with the corresponding development date.
