About this work
“Zorbas remained there contemplating her, until he could not tell whether it was the raindrops or the tears that blurred the yellow eyes of the big, black, fat cat, the good cat, the noble cat, the port cat.” - excerpt from "The Story of a Seagull and the Cat Who Taught Her to Fly" by Luis Sepúlveda.
After receiving the teaching of the feline community, the seagull Lucky is free to fly and begin her life as a bird, leaving the cat Zorbas to watch her from the edge of his window. This story that we read many times in childhood, although set in Hamburg, reminds us of the damp cans, the feline world and the powerful songs of the seagulls in our port. We guess that the author's roots are involved in his way of communicating an imaginary familiar to ours, where the animal world has a privileged place and the city is full of connections beyond human beings.
About our screen prints
Their production begins with the development of the black and white analog photographic film. We create color layers that are added to the photograph and develop them on screen printing matrices. By combining inks and pigments, we create a special color range for each series. Finally, each copy is printed by hand, layer by layer. All the works are numbered, signed, and stamped with its printing date.
